At Cerebral Palsy Scotland we provide a range of training through a combination of in-person and online training.

Training for professional development

We provide a variety of training courses suitable for a wide range of health, education and social care professionals. Our courses provide:

• An in-depth understanding of cerebral palsy and how it can present at all stages of life. We regularly offer a Cerebral Palsy Introductory Session for professionals, led by our therapy team.

• Topic specific training to give you the skills to confidently assist children living with cerebral palsy. Training topics include:

 • Connecting the dots: Early gross motor development

 • Early communication

 • Vision and CP

• Training for those who work with adults living with cerebral palsy on topics such as ageing and pain, promoting participation and eating and drinking.

We can also develop bespoke training to meet the needs of your professional team. Please get in touch to discuss your needs.

Training for parent/carers

We develop training sessions to help you understand cerebral palsy and how you can assist children to reach their potential in all areas of life. Topics include toileting, sleep and understanding and addressing challenging behaviours.

Training for people in the cerebral palsy community

For people living with cerebral palsy, we provide training that empowers you to understand and manage your own condition. As a paid or unpaid carer of an adult living with cerebral palsy, we also want to give you the skills to be able to confidently assist them to participate in all areas of life. Past training topics include optimising posture and reducing anxiety.
