Connecting with other people who have direct experience of cerebral palsy, either individually or as a family member, can be really helpful. There are some very active online support groups where you can meet others who ‘get it’, ask advice, and share practical information.

CP Support (Scotland) for Parents of Children with Cerebral Palsy
This is a very active Facebook group with over 500 members. The group welcomes parents of under 18s, and over 18s. A great group for support, sharing advice and information.
Cerebral Palsy Scotland (for adults)
This Facebook group is mainly for adults with cerebral palsy to talk to other adults with cerebral palsy, but if parents wish to join they are welcome.
CP Teens UK
CP Teens provides “help, hope, inspiration & friendship to children and young people with cerebral palsy and similar physical disabilities”. The group has a regular blog, guest blogs and a monitored ‘chat and meet’ online space for young people with CP age 13-25.
Scope Online Community
Scope is the disability equality charity in England and Wales. Their online disability forum has a cerebral palsy group.
